Limonta supports Adrian Piper’s exhibition "Race Traitor" at PAC Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea
The company supports as Main Sponsor the first European retrospective after more than twenty years dedicated to the New York artist
Limonta continues its commitment alongside the artistic and cultural world, supporting as Main Sponsor the exhibition "Race Traitor", the first European retrospective after more than twenty years dedicated to the artist Adrian Piper (1948, New York), scheduled from March 19 to June 9, 2024 at PAC Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea in Milan.
The exhibition, curated by Diego Sileo, traces over sixty years of the artist's career, with important international loans from the most prestigious museums in the world, including MoMA and Guggenheim in New York, MoMA in San Francisco, MCA in Chicago, MOCA in Los Angeles and Tate Modern in London.
Established as a conceptual and minimalist artist, as well as a performer in the New York art scene of the late sixties, Adrian Piper often raises uncomfortable questions about politics, racial and gender identity, and asks people to confront truths about themselves and the society in which they live. The works on display highlight in particular the analysis of the "visual pathology" of racism: through installations, videos, photographs, paintings and drawings the artist carries out research on the image of African American people determined by society and by many widespread stereotypes.
